Giulia Bruno is a Berlin-based artist working across photography, moving image, language, and media. With a background in biology and studies in photography and film, her practice develops through long-term research into the entanglements of technology, nature, cultural activism, and language, with a particular focus on climate change, biodiversity, and artificial landscapes.
At the core of her work is an obsessive image-making process through which time, transformation, and instability are observed and recorded. By repeatedly returning to places, landscapes, and visual motifs, she cultivates a practice of close attention that reveals subtle shifts, sedimented histories, and evolving relationships between human and non-human worlds.
Her work has been exhibited internationally, and her film Capital received the Visioni Italiane Award. She is co-founder of Studio Poor, together with Paola Raheli.
